Num­bers point to need for more long-term care beds, says CEO

Over a year ago Cal Kin­den, CEO of Health and Com­mu­nity Ser­vices, East­ern Re­gion, said he would not be able to jus­tify adding more long-term care beds to the hos­pi­tal at Clarenville.

At that time, there were only a cou­ple of peo­ple on the wait­ing list for beds.

It’s a dif­fer­ent story to­day.

In an in­ter­view last week Kin­den told the Packet that there are 43 peo­ple who would move into long-term care beds in Clarenville if the beds were avail­able.
