Holloway’s Grocery closing its doors after 60 + years
When Audrey Holloway bows into retirement at the end of December, her store will follow.
With its closed sign facing outward from 9 to 5 for the rest of it days, the little blue building will be joining the hundreds of its kind across the island.
In time, it will take the bright Pepsi logos out front for a tourist to tell this was once a store. Scattered passersby will likely pull into the driveway for years to come, before they notice the emptiness inside.
But the town of Harcourt will know when it’s gone. It will be missed.
Holloway’s has been standing there serving the same people for over 60 years.
