Nurses demonstrate in support of disciplined colleagues
It was a show of solidarity.
Nurses across the province braved the cold last Wednesday to demonstrate in support of their colleagues.
Six nurses with Central Health have been given suspensions or warnings for refusing non-nursing duties, in a campaign to put pressure on health authorities and the province to recruit more nurses to the province and negotiate a better contract.
The non-nursing duties campaign has been ongoing since October 1.
It’s made a difference, says Teena Noseworthy. “Nurses have more time at the bedside for patient care.”
