The Com­mu­nity Cal­en­dar is your one-stop shop for com­mu­nity events in the Packet re­gion.

Space is re­served for non-profit, non-govern­ment funded groups and or­ga­ni­za­tions. Please email list­ings to Sarah Bur­ton at pack­et­com­mu­ni­[email protected] com. List­ings should be typed, 50 words or less, and in­clude the com­mu­nity in which your event is be­ing held. You may also in­clude one photo, if you wish, but it can­not be a poster. Cana­dian Blood Ser­vices will be hold­ing a blood donor clinic at the Clarenville Inn on Thurs­day, Jan. 3 from 12:30-3 p.m. and 4:30-8 p.m. There are 171 ap­point­ments to fill. Clarenville res­i­dents are asked to book their ap­point­ments to­day by down­load­ing the GiveBlood app or visit blood.ca.

Clarenville Li­ons Club is col­lect­ing used eyeglasses and used hear­ing aids at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions in Clarenville. These eyeglasses and hear­ing aids are re­fur­bished and re­dis­tributed to peo­ple in need through­out the world.

The Clarenville Re­gion Ex­tended Se­niors Trans­porta­tion (CREST) sys­tem is a part­ner­ship be­tween the Town of Clarenville and Ran­dom Age-Friendly Com­mu­ni­ties com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing ap­pro­pri­ate and af­ford­able trans­porta­tion for peo­ple over 60, as well as for peo­ple con­fined to wheel­chairs. Vol­un­teers are needed to help pro­vide this ser­vice.
