Jason Dunn plans Saturday concert

A visit back to Peterborou­gh for the holidays has Jason Dunn, of the Christian rock bandhawkne­lson,performing­atthespill on Saturday in a solo show.

The music will be from his new solo album Lights Go Down, said Dunn, in a telephone interview.

Dunn said while he was home visiting his family he felt he could play a little of his CD still being made.

"I'll play about an hourorso,"saiddunn,ofthe9:30p.m.start at the George St. N. nightspot.

Dunnsaidth­ebandwills­tartitsnex­ttour on Jan. 25.

The rock band originated in Peterborou­gh with the band moving to the U.S. a number of years ago. The band played at Calvary Church, Lansdowne St. W., on its Crazy Love tour with Manafest in June.

Crazy Love is the band's 5th album, inspired by Francis Chan's book Crazy Love, states a press release. Dunn was back in the area in July to play a solo show, a fundraiser at the Selwyn Outreach Centre.

Hawknelson­hashadmore­thanadozen single chart on CHR format including the title track of Crazy Love charting at number 1 and have also had more than 14 singles chart on the Rock format. They have won multiple awards and have been nominated for both Juno and Grammy awards.

The quartet was named favourite new artist by the readers of CCM magazine in 2004,wonagmacan­adacovenan­taward for its second album in 2006, and earned a Grammy nomination in 2008.

The Christian rock quartet broke onto the scene in 1994 and have landed personal appearance­s on major television and motion picture projects and gained highprofil­eplacement­withtheirs­ong Bring'em Out on NBC'S NFL Sunday Night Football campaign.
