The Peterborough City men's soccer team improved to 8-0-0 with a 1-0 win over Arianna Toronto United Saturday at Eastgate Memorial Park.
The goal scorer was Andrew Dusome with Cameron Brice-Elion supplying the shutout.
City has a nine-point lead on second place Scarborough City atop the OSL Central Region East standings. City hosts Scarborough City 7 p.m. Saturday at Eastgate. short-handed goals, said coach Jim Johnston.
“I really believe with a full line-up we can beat this team,” Johnston said.
Kyle Clancy scored twice with singles to Aaron Grayson, Chad Evans and Mike McNamara.
Game 2 in the best-of-five series is 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre. Brantford 53-12 led by two tries each from Dylan Twyman and Dylan Albert and four converts by Daniel Santos.
“It was a good game had by all,” said Seconds coach Nathan Baker. “A fantastic game by Dustin Taylor with hard runs through the centres of their backs.”
The Pagans host the Oshawa Vikings (6-2) in doubleheader action Saturday starting at 1:30 p.m.
