TRENT LAKES LOGO
Trent Lakes’ logo and name have been officially introduced to the citizenry at a barbecue on the grounds of the municipal buildings on Tuesday, July 16. Hamburgers and hot dogs, councillors and mayor, firemen on the barbecue and dignitaries on the road to speak to their electorate were in attendance.
A motivational chant citing all the attractions of Trent Lakes was performed by staff from the municipal office. The CAO, Pat Kemp, introduced Barry Devolin, the local MPP, who commented on the name Trent Lakes and said that it was marketable and relevant stating something about the area. J.Murray Jones, warden of Peterborough County, said that this municipality was one of the joys of Peterborough County so, regardless of the name, it is all about the people. Janet Clarkson, mayor, said that council had talked about a name change previous to Canada Post’s direction so Canada Post brought it to fruition.
Wilf Loewrigkeit, a resident of the area, suggested the name Trent Lakes and was recognized for his contribution. Wilf believes that the name helps unify the area as it describes the place where we all live. Lorrie Belrose was recognised as the provider of the newly designed logo. Cake and conversation wrapped up the evening.
