WALK FOR DOG GUIDES

-

The 2013 LCIF Walk for Dog Guides held in Omemee was another successful event. Twenty-four participants along with spouses and children, twenty-two dogs along with online pledges saw $5428.00 raised, an increase of over $400. from last year's total. The event, organized by the three local Lions Clubs (Omemee and District, Fowlers Corners and District, Dunsford) and the Omemee and District Lioness Club, was a positive affair thanks to Dr. Kathleen Norman of the Omemee Veterinary Hospital, King St. W. and her technicians, Jody, Nikki, Shiela and Amy. The clinic promoted the walk, collected pledges, participated and made a donation to the barbeque as well as helping collect thank-you participant gifts. Amy also served as photographer for the dog participants. This group of dedicated individuals raised almost $1700.00 in pledges for the event.

Thanks also to Kathryn Rutledge of Invisible Fence, Peteroborough for her donations.

Plans are already in place for the 2014 walk.
