Choosing the next ambassador

annual competitio­n to choose a Norwood Fair Ambassador for the 2013 Thanksgivi­ng fair will soon be here.

This year there are five talented young ladies vying for the crown. Ashley Baird sponsored by J.J. Stewart Motors, Olivia Jenkins sponsored by Asphodel-Norwood Fire and Rescue, Shannen Nickle sponsored by the Norwood Lions Club, Kate Oliver sponsored by the Norwood Lioness Club and Emma Smith sponsored by Centennial Pharmacy. All the girls attend or have recently graduated from Norwood District High School.

The competitio­n will take place in the Millennium Room at the Asphodel Norwood Community Centre on Aug. 11, the doors open at 1 p.m. competitio­n starts at 2 p.m. (There is no admittance during the speeches).

Admission to the competitio­n is free and everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and listen to this talented group of contestant­s. A very special thank you from the Norwood Fair Board is extended to all the sponsors for their vital support.
