Rockers bring it home

I Mother Earth performed as part of Peterborou­gh Musicfest on Saturday night.

Edwin sings as alternativ­e rock band I Mother Earth performed on the Fred Anderson Stage in Del Crary Park as part of the 30th anniversar­y of Peterborou­gh Musicfest on Saturday night. The band, which reunited with its former frontman after some 18 years, is celebratin­g the 20th anniversar­y of its sophomore double platinum release, Scenery and Fish. They played hits and fan favourites including One More Astronaut, Like A Girl, Not Quite Sonic, Raspberry, Used To Be Alright, Another Sunday, Rain Will Fall, Santana’s Evil Ways and for the encore, Levitate. It was a homecoming of sorts with brothers Jagori Tanna (guitars, backing vocals) and Christian Tanna (drums) hailing from the city. Musicfest continues Wednesday with Gowan taking the stage at 8 p.m.
