Fan bus for Feb. 17 Petes game in Kingston Juvenile Eagles win pair in playoff round robin

The Peterborou­gh Petes fan bus will head to Kingston on Feb. 17 for a Slap Shot-themed game against the Eastern Conference rival Kingston Frontenacs at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Departing from the Peterborou­gh Memorial Centre main parking lot at 4 p.m., the fan bus will arrive in Kingston for the 7 p.m. game where fans will have an opportunit­y to meet Bill “Goldie” Goldthorpe, the retired hockey player who inspired the character of Ogie Ogilthorpe in Slap Shot. Reservatio­ns for the trip cost $50 per person and include transporta­tion to and from the game, a game ticket and snacks. The Ennismore Robert Young Constructi­on Juvenile Eagles saw back to back victories over the weekend in the Belle River round robin AAA division, leading off with a 7-2 victory. Pat Young scored two goals for Ennismore with singles contribute­d by Nick Julian, Adam Kitchen, Billy Clarke and Jared Foxon. Assists went to Chandler Carberry, Frank Sullivan, Reid Halstead, Young and Clarke. On Sunday, the Eagles recorded a 5-0 win to take first place in the round robin with a 4-0 record. Foxon, Clarke, Carberry, Sullivan and Young scored for Ennismore assisted by Julian, Carberry, Sullivan, Young and Kitchen. The team will face Whitby in a game at the Ennismore Robert Young Sports Complex on Saturday at 5:45 p.m.

Pearce gets hat trick in Bantam AAA shutout win

The Peterborou­gh Rehill Building Supplies Bantam AAA Petes defeated Richmond Hill 7-0 in regular season action on Saturday night. Austin Pearce scored a hat trick for Peterborou­gh with Nolan Burke adding two goals. Avery Cook and Ben Lukinuk contribute­d singles. Assists went to Will Everson, Boyd Stahlbaum, Tyler Deline, Bode Dunford and Burke. On Sunday, the team recorded a 2-2 tie against Quinte. Chase Stillman and Everson combined their efforts for the first goal with a second goal from Burke assisted Cook.

LCVI beats Adam Scott in OT in boys hockey

Lindsay Collegiate defeated Adam Scott 5-4 in overtime during a Kawartha High School Boys Hockey game on Monday afternoon. Zack Rhodes scored a hat trick for Lindsay with Adam Shier contributi­ng two goals and assists from Jason Thompson, Nathan Rogers, Anthony Serachino, Shier, and Rhodes. Morgan Thompson, Jack Doble, Luke Robinson, and Quinn Jones each scored one goal for Adam Scott with assists by Doble, Jones, Tyler Thompson and Jackson Baker.
