MOVIES IN THE PARK: The Ben Van Veen Summer Family Film Series presents Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001, rated PG), Millennium Park. The movie starts at dusk and attendees should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Free.
SHAMROCK FESTIVAL: Ennismore Shamrock Festival will begin on Friday at the Ennismore Community Centre with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. Saturday is a Family Fun Day, with ball hockey, soccer and rookie ball tournament, bouncy castles, barbecue, petting zoo and face painting. At noon Sunday there will be a Truck and Tractor Pull along with a Huge Indoor Craft Show at the Ennismore Community Centre. At the Robert E. MUSEUM: Made in Canada – Really!, a look at the industries and businesses of the past in Peterborough and those that remain, exhibit runs until Oct. 1. Made possible by the Community Fund for Canada's 150th, a collaboration between the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough, Community Foundations of Canada and the federal government.
