Atom AAA Petes on a 10-game winning streak
The Peterborough Russelle Chiropractic/Canadian Hockey Enterprises Atom AAA Petes extended their unbeaten streak in ETA league play to 10 games with three victories on the road last weekend. The Petes have a record of 8-0-2 during this stretch since Sept. 17. Last Saturday at Quinte the Atom AAA Petes opened the weekend with a 6-3 win over the Red Devils. Cam Burke and Ben Bowen scored two goals with singles to Quinn Jacobs and Owen Fitzgerald. Assists went to Graydon Jones with three, Ryder Perry, Holden Rutherford and Nolan Mason. On Sunday, the Petes beat the Richmond Hill Stars 7-1. Burke led the way scoring two with singles to Jacobs, Fitzgerald, Nate Gerelus, Bowen and Mason. Assists went to Burke with two, Zach Russelle, Bowen, Ty Bolton and Perry. On Monday night, the Petes defeated the Oshawa Generals 7-3. Bowen led the way with the hat trick, Mason tallied two with a single to Fitzgerald. Assists went to Burke with two, Russelle, Travis Maxwell, Bowen, Cooper Lawson, Bolton, Cal Couch and Bolton. Both Masen Johnston and Lewis Brocklehurst have been outstanding during this stretch sharing the goaltending duties. The Petes’ are currently first overall in the ETA with a record of 8-1-2. The Petes’ will participate in the Shanahan Invitational Tournament this weekend hosted by the Mississauga Reps. Next league action for the Petes’ is Nov. 11 versus the Ajax-Pickering Raiders at the Evinrude Centre at 1:30 p.m.
