Theatre Guild performing The Drowning Girls

The Peterborou­gh Theatre Guild’s latest production is The Drowning Girls. The play opened Nov. 3 and runs until Nov. 18.

Performanc­es start at 8 p.m. during the play’s run and there are also two matinees happening Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, starting at 2 p.m.

Prices are: adults, $20; seniors, $18 and students, $11.

Acting workshop

The Peterborou­gh Theatre guild presents the Laban theory for Actors and Directors, set for Nov. 11, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the guildhall, 362 Rogers Street.

In this active workshop, learn how movement helps actors and directors talk about and use movement to communicat­e character and stimulate emotion in the actor and the audience.

The workshop is open to anyone 15 years old and up..

Upcoming PTG workshops

The guild also has plans for other workshops, including an introducti­on to Meisner technique, using power tools safely and scene painting.

The PTG is also looking for yoga practition­ers.

PTG auditions

There is an audition call at the Peterborou­gh Theatre Guild for The Addams Family (Musical).

Tryouts are slated for Nov. 28 and Nov. 30 from 6 p.m. to to 9 p.m. in the green room and Green Room and studio B at the PTG, 362 Rogers Street.

Callbacks will be December 3 at 5 p.m. in the Gwen Brown Studio.

The play has a large cast of 20 to 25 actors. The guild is looking for actors to fill roles for 11 males, ages 12 to 70 years old and nine females, 17 to 70 years old

Nice to have skills include fight and sword work for Gomez, but are not mandatory.

The play will run in late April and early May. Rehearsals are three times a week starting in January, with possible rehearsals for lead actors in December.

For this panel audition, potential cast members need to prepare a monologue and a short song to show vocal range. Neither piece needs to be memorized and you can bring sheet music for the PTG accompanis­t.

If you are bringing recorded music, contact the director in advance to ensure a device is available. You will also need comfortabl­e clothing to complete the dance portion of the audition.
