The Artisan Show and Sale, taking place at Mark Street United Church, 90 Hunter St. E., Nov. 25-26, is celebrating 11 years of supporting Jamaican Self-Help (JSH) while showcasing the works of local artisans in our community. The 20 participating artisans are generously donating 20 per cent of their sales to Jamaican Self-Help to support their youth and educational projects.

“Our goal is to raise funds for Jamaican projects while supporting the local artisans who bring beautiful work to our community,” says Liz Sine, Chair of the Artisan Show and Sale Committee. “We are excited to see the event running into its 11th year as patrons continue to appreciate our commitment to showcasing quality goods that are made locally.”

Hand crafted items for sale at the show include pottery, textile and fabric art, specialty soaps, knitted and woven items, beeswax products, metal and wood work, photography, a wide variety of jewelry and more. There will also be a variety of fresh baked goods for sale.

Show and Sale hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free but donations at the door would be greatly appreciated. Cash, debit, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Jamaican Self-Help is a Peterborough-based registered charitable organization that relies on Canadian volunteers and donors to support educational and community development projects through its partner organizations in Jamaica.
