Man found asleep be­hind wheel of parked ve­hi­cle

Po­lice were called Sun­day morn­ing af­ter a man was found asleep be­hind the wheel of a car parked in a Lans­downe St. W. restau­rant park­ing lot at 7 a.m., with the keys in the ig­ni­tion.

A sec­ond per­son in the ve­hi­cle was also asleep.

Po­lice arrived and spoke to the man be­hind the wheel. Sus­pect­ing he had been drink­ing, a breath test was ad­min­is­tered. Zachary Bradley Peck­ford, 23, of Tim­ber­land Cres­cent, Wasaga Beach, was charged with hav­ing care or con­trol of a ve­hi­cle while im­paired by al­co­hol.

His ve­hi­cle was im­pounded for seven days and his li­cence sus­pended for 90 days. He’ll appear in court June 7.
