Beamer running for a third term representing Northcrest Ward
Andrew Beamer has announced plans to run for a third term in Northcrest Ward.
Beamer, first elected as one of two councillors in the ward in 2010, said Thursday he would file his nomination papers to run again.
“It has been an honour to represent Northcrest Ward over the past eight years. I have greatly enjoyed the work and I have done my best to live up to my responsibilities and the faith that north end residents have placed in me,” Beamer stated in a release.
“I am running for reelection because I want to continue to move this city forward. I believe in Peterborough and I want to help continue to build a strong, safe and vibrant community that will be prosperous for years to come.”
Beamer stated his priorities include north-end development (Chemong Rd. widening, neighbourhood traffic calming, the Trent University twin-pad project and more) and job creation and economic development at Cleantech Commons and the airport.
