Advance polls have been busy
Today is last chance to vote at advance polls
Wednesday is the last day of voting at most advance polls in the provincial election – although you can still vote by special ballot in Peterborough until June 6.
Advance polls opened Saturday and for the most part will close at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Meanwhile any eligible voter who lives in Peterborough-Kawartha still has the chance to vote at the special ballot office at the returning office in Peterborough Square until 6 p.m. on June 6 (election day is June 7).
Christine Jaros, the election clerk at the Peterborough-Kawartha returning office, said the advance polls have been busier than anticipated – particularly the one at Mapleridge Recreation Centre on Brealey Dr.
If you haven’t gotten a voter’s card, Jaros said you can still vote: you simply need one piece of identification (like your driver’s licence, for example).
Even if you’re not on the voter’s list, you can still vote on election day June 7. Jaros said you can be added to the list at the polls, provided you bring a piece of identification with you.
Here’s where you can still vote at advance polls, if you live in Peterborough-Kawartha:
• Peterborough-Kawartha Returning Office Peterborough Square, lower level, unit 100 (near the former location of the public library)
Open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Advance poll is open here until Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Any eligible voter who lives in Peterborough-Kawartha can still vote at the returning office in advance, by special ballot, until June 6 at 6 p.m.
