Kawartha Trent golden at Ontario finals
Kawartha Trent Synchro Club competitive athletes brought home two gold medals, a bronze medal and the OOAGSSC Combo trophy on the May 25-27 weekend in Etobicoke.
The club’s competitive provincial athletes competed in the Ontario Open Age Groups Synchronized Swimming Championships—the largest competition of the season with more than 300 athletes participating.
In the combination routine competition, the 10-swimmer team brought home a gold medal and the OOAGSSC Combo Trophy. The girls did a fun routine to Bruno Mars and really showed the judges how much fun they were having, coach Holly Bosnell explained.
“This is the first season these girls have participated in the combo event and they have exceeded our expectations,” Bosnell said.

where the trio of Ally Sandiland, Allison Adam and Sabrina Adam brought home a gold medal.
“They worked so hard all year to master these skills and killed it at this competition. I have never seen them have such a strong swim and it was reflected in their marks,” coach Dani Smith said.
The same trio also had a strong performance in the Free Routine competition and brought home the bronze medal.
“To have this trio medal in both routines is amazing,” Smith said.
The 13-15 team routine’s placed fourth and fifth in the championship category and continued the day’s success onward.
The championship category included 26 teams from across the province and the KTSC 13-15 team had their finals and combo finals all in the same day, according to Bosnell.
In the 11-12, age category, the team of Reilly Bates and Lauren Chambers placed 20 out of 32 teams, and had their best swim of the season, coach Katy Eldridge explained.
On Sunday, the club hosted a Bring a Friend/Free Lesson at the Allan Marshall Pool at Trent University followed by a Try Competitive night.
