Abandoned rifle found

LINDSAY — City of Kawartha Lakes Police are investigating after an abandoned rifle was found by a passerby Thursday in the woods near the Rainbow Bridge in Lindsay.

An officer was called in and took possession of the rifle, police said.

An investigation is continuing into how the rifle became abandoned, police said.

The Rainbow Bridge is a footbridge that connects the east end of Russell Street with a bike path that runs along the east side of the Scugog River.
