FLIGHT SCHOOL MARKS HALF CENTURY

The 50th anniversar­y of Seneca School of Aviation was celebrated Friday night at Seneca College’s Peterborou­gh campus at the Peterborou­gh Airport. More than 100 people were in attendance, including, from left, president David Agnew, dean Ranjan Bhattachar­ya of faculty of applied science and engineerin­g technology, Peterborou­gh-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith, director Lynne McMullen of business developmen­t, school of aviation, Senecan of Distinctio­n recipients Russell Bannoc and Andrew Williams, honouring his mother Joan, and Steve Linthwaite attended. The event included opening remarks and campus tours. The school opened a campus in Peterborou­gh in 2014. It moved from the Buttonvill­e Airport in Markham, where it had operated for 45 years prior.
