Traffic stop leads to charges

-

A 25-year-old Brealey Drive man faces alcohol-related driving charges after officers were called to the parking lot on Armour Hill for some 20 people drinking and concerns about possible impaired driving at about 10:30 p.m. Friday, city police said. Officers arrived to get word an unknown party who had been drinking had left in a truck. A suspect vehicle was found a short time later on Hunter. A breath test found the driver had more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system, police stated. Nicholas John Alexander was arrested and charged with exceeding the legal blood-alcohol limit and was given a 90-day licence suspension and released for a Sept. 13 court appearance. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
