Terry’s takes 3-0 lead
Terry’s Gas and Variety has taken a 3-0 stranglehold on the Peterborough Men’s Softball Association city league championship series with a shutout win Tuesday night at the George (Red) Sullivan East City Bowl.
The defending champion Marshall’s were mercied 7-0 after five innings.
Dan Burnham hit a three-run home run and Mark Langley had a two-run home run for Terry’s Gas and Variety, while Josh Maguire had three singles.
Matt Leahy tossed a one-hitter for the win, with Jake Canning getting the lone Marshall’s hit. Cam Heffernan took the loss, with Chris Van Valkenberg pitching in relief.
Terry’s has a chance to sweep the series with a win in Game 4 on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the George (Red) Sullivan East City Bowl.
