PORT HOPE — Filming for Largo, the sequel to Stephen King’s It, is now set for Friday.

Filming in the Memorial Park area of Port Hope had been planned to resume Monday, but was cancelled due to the weather.

The road closures that were planned for Monday will be in effect Friday when Third Act Productions returns to town.

Filming will be taking place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Scenes will involve mostly dialogue, with no special effects or gunfire.

There will be a full road closure of Queen Street (between 24 and 56 Queen) and on Augusta Street, between Queen and Elias Street.

Local access only will be available on Queen Street, from Robertson Street to Walton Street and on Augusta, from John Street to Queen. Production vehicles will park along Queen, Augusta, Elias, Robertson and near the Capitol Theatre.

Film crews and the cast return again in September for an extended stay of about 14 days.

The first film shoot is set for Sept. 10.

Stephen King’s It was partly filmed in Port Hope in 2016 and set box office records for a horror movie when it was released in October 2017.
