Spots still open for Lorne Eakins Hockey School

There are still a few days left to register for the Lorne Eakins Hockey School.

Lorne Eakins provides a fun and positive introducti­on to hockey for children that will spark a love for the game, according to a release from the city’s recreation division.

The program is offered twice a week for four weeks and teaches the basics of hockey.

Instructio­n is provided by the Currie Tire men’s hockey team and is open to boys and girls ages five to 11. Full hockey dress and stick are required.

The cost is $115. Sessions are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept. 4 to 27 for seven and eight year olds from 7 to 8 p.m.

Five- and six-year-olds go Mondays and Wednesdays from Sept. 5 to Oct. 1 from 6 to 7 p.m., seven and eight years old from 7 to 8 p.m. and nine to 11 years old from 8 to 9 p.m. All sessions are at the Kinsmen Civic Centre.
