Wanted man nabbed

A Peterborough man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

A man was spotted while a city police community service officer was conducting the downtown policing project aimed at keeping the downtown safe, police said.

The man was riding a bike at the time when the officer spotted him and arrested him, police said.

Donald Mercier, 40, of 120 Murray St., was charged with failing to attend court. He was released from custody and is to appear in court Sept. 20.
