$300K fire destroys home

LITTLE BRITAIN — Damage is estimated at $300,000 after a Little-Britain area house was fully destroyed in a fire on Monday night.

Kawartha Lakes Deputy Fire Chief Terry Jones said crews from four halls were called to Pleasant Point Road around 11 p.m. to find the house fully ablaze.

The man and woman living in the house escaped without injury but the house was destroyed, Jones said.

Fire officials are continuing to investigat­e the cause and Jones said they have not yet been able to determine if there were working smoke alarms.

Damage is estimated at $300,000.
