Charges dropped against three in meth-lab case
Three of the four people charged in a raid in May have been cleared of any wrongdoing in connection to an alleged methamphetamine lab.
Charges were withdrawn for Dylan Gough, Dana Fitzgerald and Kimberly Bassani, in Peterborough provincial court on Aug. 7. The trio were charged with one count each of possession of fentanyl, and the production of methamphetamine.
According to Peterborough County OPP, officers executed a search warrant at an island on Katchewanooka Lake, near Young’s Point, in April of this year. OPP said they seized a substantial amount of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. At the time, police said three young children were found and taken into the care of the Children’s Aid Society.
Kristy Mieske, 29, is charged with possession of a fentanyl and production of methamphetamine.
She’s scheduled to return to Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough in October.
