Stolen credit card used
A stolen credit card was used at a local gas station Aug. 28, leading to charges against a local woman. Police say a purse, wallet and a bracelet were stolen from a locked vehicle parked at Beavermead Park between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. A vehicle window was open.
The card was used that evening at a Lansdowne St. E. gas station. Police identified a suspect and issued a warrant for her arrest. A woman was arrested at the police station Friday. Katie-Lynne Hughes, 32, of Cameron Street, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking.
Police also connected her to a stolen guitar and microphone that were pawned at a local shop in August, and was charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
She was held in custody and appeared in court Friday.
