Cat shot with pellet gun

LINDSAY — Kawartha Lakes police are asking for tips from the public after a Lindsay resident’s cat was shot by a pellet gun. On Monday the Mary Street resident let the cat outside his home for five to 10 minutes, police said. When the cat returned to the residence, the owner found the cat to be bleeding from one of its back legs.

The cat was assessed by a veterinari­an, police said, and it was determined the animal had been shot with a pellet gun. The City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service has not received any other similar reports of animal cruelty in Lindsay. At this time there is no informatio­n to suggest there is a threat to other pets in the area.
