Fleming teams with private company for student residence
Severn Court is located on Wilfred Drive and will offer 48 beds for first-year students
Fleming College’s newest student residence in Peterborough is a partnership with a private partner.
Severn Court, operated by Campus Living Centres, offers off-campus housing for first-year students attending Fleming’s Sutherland Campus on Brealey Dr. in the city’s southwest end.
“The opportunity to work with Campus Living Centres to provide off-campus housing for our students is a new and exciting endeavour for Fleming College,” stated Travis Doak, the college’s director of housing, food, conference services and student conduct, in a press release.
“We believe this partnership will benefit our students and allow for future potential growth in housing options.”
The building on Wilfred Drive, a short walk from the college, will have 48 beds, according to a press release from the college, and has been offering student rental housing for some time. Going forward, the college’s housing services department will manage the building and its services.
“Students living in our building at Severn Court will enjoy the full residence experience that students living on-campus are offered, which supports personal development and academic success,” Doak stated.
“Severn Court has always been a destination for Fleming Students,” stated Brian Freeman, senior vice-president at Campus Living Centres. ”With this formalized arrangement, we are excited to work more closely with the college to help ensure the success and well-being of its students and our residents.”
