Adri Eastman running for deputy mayor

Another look at a candidate running in next month’s municipal election in Trent Lakes

Adri Eastman fills out the Trent Lakes ballot for Deputy Mayor for the Oct. 22 election. Eastman, a resident of Ledge Road, is a member of three municipal committees - Mining and Aggregate, Parks and Recreation and the Committee of Adjustment. Eastman describes herself as being a strong, new voice, active and responsibl­e, honest and transparen­t, informed and engaged.

She and her husband moved to Bobcaygeon in 1994. They bought a home here and have been in the constructi­on business for 22 years. After a lengthy career in banking and financial services she went back to school to pursue her love of horticultu­re. She plans on moving her greenhouse business to Trent Lakes. Dogs, long distance running, hiking, skiing, atving and snowmobili­ng are part of her daily life. Chemung Lions

Chemung Lions will be holding a silent auction during their car show on Monday in support of local community care groups. The auction will be held at the Lions Park in Bridgenort­h, just off Ward Street south of Tim Horton's. The car show will start around 4:30 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. with the draws taking place around 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to share in the car show and participat­e in the silent auction. Local businesses have donated a wide range of prizes and services for the bidders to select from. The rain date will be Sept. 17 with same location and times.

New Venture Workshop

Are you an aspiring entreprene­ur? Or perhaps you have a new startup and are looking for support in the business community. A New Venture Workshop will be held on Wednesday, September 26 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Matthews/St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 1946 Lakehurst Road in Buckhorn.

Presented by the Peterborou­gh and the Kawarthas Economic Developmen­t, The Municipali­ty of Trent Lakes Economic Developmen­t Committee, Curve Lake First Nation, and the Township of Selwyn this New Venture Session will provide an overview of:
