Knights tie in opener

Michelle Kylie made 37 saves to help the Fleming Knights women’s soccer team to a 0-0 draw against perennial OCAA powerhouse Algonquin Thunder in their season opener Sunday afternoon at the Fleming Sports Field Complex.

The Knights managed eight shots on Thunder keeper Kirsten Skinner. The Knights visit the Loyalist Lancers on Tuesday. In men’s action, Algonquin got the upper hand 2-0. Colin Gibson recorded the shutout with nine saves while Vladyslav Hoshovskyi and Jeremy Trefry scored the Thunder goals.

Fleming keeper Dwayne McIntosh stopped 24 of 26 shots. The Knights visit Seneca on Sunday.
