Arrest made in Cobourg stabbing

COBOURG — A man has been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation in connection with the stabbing of a 45-year-old man in Cobourg on Aug. 31.

Cobourg Police officers were called to the stabbing at about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 31 at a duplex on Elgin Street East, just east of D’Arcy Street.

Kevin Bandy, 45, of Roseneath, who was airlifted by Ornge air ambulance to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto with critical injuries after being stabbed multiple times. He was later listed in stable condition.

Jesse Page-Thomas, 30, of no fixed address, was arrested Tuesday and was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday afternoon.
