Six Petes now away at NHL training camps
All six Petes who attended NHL rookie camps were invited to main camp.
Declan Chisholm (Winnipeg Jets), Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (Toronto Maple Leafs), Liam Kirk (Arizona Coyotes) as well as
Cole Fraser, Zach Gallant and
Pavel Gogolev, all with the Detroit Red Wings, won’t rejoin the Petes until next week.
It left the Petes short two skaters for Thursday’s game. Adrien Beraldo was suspended one game for being involved in the second fight on a stoppage in play. The Petes could only dress three of their four overage players and scratched Bobby Dow.
John Parker-Jones played defence as coach Rob Wilson wants to see if he can fill in there if needed. They iced 10 forwards and six defencemen.
Minor Petes placements
Will Cranley is the lone player of the 10 drafted from the Peterborough Minor Midget AAA Petes in April who will start this season in the OHL.
Cranley, a second-round draft pick who signed with the Ottawa 67’s in the summer, is one of two goalies left on Ottawa’s roster.
Sarnia Sting draft pick Nolan Burke will play for the OJHL’s Pickering Panthers. Kalvyn Watson (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds) and Logan Maunder
(Erie Otters) have joined the Lindsay Muskies. Petes draft pick Luc Reeve is with the Kingston Voyageurs.
Tyler Deline (Flint Firebirds) and Brett Robertson (Mississauga Steelheads) have joined the Clarington Major Midget AAA Toros. Will Craig (Guelph Storm) and Boyd Stahlbaum
(Kingston Frontenacs) are with the Central Ontario Major Midget AAA Wolves. Noah Sedore
(Erie) is at Ridley College.
Ambassadors
The Petes are looking for energetic, outgoing and positive Trent and Fleming students to serve as Petes campus ambassadors.
They will be responsible for attracting university and college students to games.
