Curve Lake marijuana dispensary owner fined
CURVE LAKE — A woman who opened a medical marijuana dispensary at Curve Lake First Nation has been fined after pleading guilty to marijuana trafficking.
Tammy Banks, 45, was arrested by Anishinabek Police Service in February, 11 days after opening a medical marijuana dispensary on the First Nation north of Peterborough.
Police raided Trican at 1262 Mississauga Rd. on March 8 and charged the store owner and her son, Joshua Banks, with trafficking.
Banks pleaded guilty to trafficking marijuana and was sentenced by Justice Stuart Konyer in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on Sept. 4, Peterborough This Week reported.
Konyer fined Banks $12,689.50. Charges against her son were withdrawn.
