Timbermen to open ALL season on Dec. 30 in Six Nations
Home games slated for Oshawa but PMC dates possible
The Peterborough Timbermen will have their Arena Lacrosse League season opener on Dec. 30 on the road against the Six Nations Snipers.
The seven-team Ontario winter indoor box lacrosse league released its 2019 schedule on Monday.
For now, the Timbermen home games are all listed at the Children’s Arena at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa, but the Timbermen say they are looking for available dates when some of the games could be played at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, as they did in their first two seasons.
The ALL has scheduled 49 regular season games with all games being played on either Saturday (34 games) or Sunday (15 games).
“We looked at making our schedule more travel friendly for the players as the majority work Friday and sometimes getting to games can become a challenge” stated Arena Lacrosse League president Paul St. John.
“We also want to open up our league to more players living in the United States and Eastern/ Western Ontario and Quebec who can travel on a Saturday or Sunday to play, whereas a Friday night game would be a deterrent.”
The Whitby Steelhawks won the league championship last season with a 12-10 win over the Paris RiverWolves.
Here is the 14-game Peterborough Timbermen schedule:
