Woman charged with assaulting sister

Police have charged a woman from St. Catharines after a domestic incident in Peterborou­gh involving her sister.

It’s alleged that the visitor, 18, assaulted her sister with a stapler and stabbed her in the arm with a knife. A door in the home was damaged. The sister did not require medical treatment, police say.

The 18-year-old from St. Catharines was charged with two counts of assault and mischief under $5,000. She was released and will appear in court Oct. 11. Her name was not released to protect her sister’s identity.
