Havelock man setnenced to six months in jail for County Road 46 rollover that injured four people
A Havelock man is going to jail for dangerous driving.
Damian Carr, who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing bodily harm, was sentenced to six months in jail by Justice Stuart Konyer on Sept. 4 in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
Carr was behind the wheel on May 21, 2016 when his vehicle rolled into the ditch on County Road 46 in Havelock-BelmontMethuen Township.
The vehicle caught fire, according to Peterborough County OPP, and four of the five occupants were transferred to hospital for treatment of various injuries.
One person suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The 21-year-old was found to be under the influence of alcohol and he was charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous operation causing bodily harm and mischief under $5,000.
He also pleaded guilty to the mischief charge and received a 10-day consecutive sentence as well as one year of probation.
