Second shutout in a row for Barwinski in Chiefs win

LAKEFIELD — The Lakefield Hendren Funeral Home Chiefs blanked the Campbellfo­rd Rebels 11-0 in PJHL action on Tuesday night at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre to improve to 3-1 on the season.

Zac Treen led the Chiefs attack with a goal and four assists. Jordan Vivian had two goals and two assists. Dawson Turcott and Ethan Young each had two goals and an assist. Karn Dart had a goal and an assist. Evan Marlowe, Jeff Hawthorne and James Allen had the other single goals. Adam Kitchen had two assists, while Ryan Shaughness­y, Riley Wade and Tarren Jank each had single assists.

Lakefield outshot Campbellfo­rd 48-12. Andrew Barwinski made 12 saves for his second consecutiv­e shutout.

Next action for the Chiefs is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Picton. Chiefs players will be celebrity servers at Boston Pizza on Chemong Road in Peterborou­gh on Thursday night.
