Celebration of life Thursday for Guerin
A celebration of life will be held for Casey Guerin from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Highland Park Funeral Centre.
Mr. Guerin, 33, succumbed Sept. 21 to a rare disorder that caused fluid to build up in his lungs following emergency procedures at the University of Pennsylvania hospital.
He is a Peterborough native who grew up playing rep lacrosse and baseball locally. He played lacrosse out west in Port Coquitlam and Nanaimo. More recently, he was colour commentator on broadcasts of the National Lacrosse League’s Saskatchewan Rush and was an assistant coach of the Saskatchewan Swat junior lacrosse team.
A sales job with Bombardier Recreational Products took Mr. Guerin out west.
His father Pete Guerin played pro lacrosse and with the Peterborough Lakers. His brother Jesse also played pro lacrosse and with the junior A Lakers. Casey’s cousin Pete Dalliday and late uncle Gary Dalliday are well known Peterborough sports broadcasters.
