Launch Sunday for Cyclocross event

The 2018 Shimano Canadian Cyclocross Championships committee will hold a launch event Sunday at Nicholls Oval to preview the national event to be hosted here in November.

The public is invited to come out and watch race four of the Peterborough Cycling Club’s cyclocross series to see what the sport is all about, according to a press release from organizers.

The race will be followed by a special race for children of all ages, a barbecue hosted by presenting sponsors Wild Rock Outfitters, as well as a presence from gold sponsors Peterborough Volkswagen and Medallist Design.

The event begins with registration and practice at 9 a.m. with the race at 10 a.m. The children’s race is at 12:15 p.m. and the launch event is at 12:30 p.m.
