EPPING OUT IN SEMIFINAL

Peterborou­gh’s John Epping fell to Winnipeg’s Reid Carruthers in the semifinal of the 2018 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling in Chatham-Kent on Saturday night. Carruthers won in an extra end after the two teams split eight ends 2-2 in the match play style event. Earlier in the day, Epping knocked off Glenn Howard +4 by sweeping four of the first six ends.

It was Epping’s first Grand Slam event with his new front end of former Howard teammates Brent Laing and Craig Savill. Epping retained vice Mat Camm.
