Man arrested on human trafficking charges
Peterborough County OPP have arrested a Kingston man on human trafficking charges after an investigation that was prompted by a RIDE spot check stop in July. Officers at a Peterborough County OPP RIDE spot check had stopped the vehicle and became concerned about a girl who was a passenger in the vehicle and called in the Peterborough County OPP crime unit, police said. The OPP anti-human trafficking investigation co-ordination team also joined the investigation, resulting in the arrest announced Monday.
Raynard Bell, 36, of Kingston, was charged with procuring a person under 18 and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance order.
