During the 2018 season, the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stocks – Peterborough Speedway’s entry-level division – saw close to 50 different teams take a green flag in at least one event.

That’s the type of brand loyalty any track promoter would love to have and heading into the 26th annual Autumn Colours Classic – presented by Lucas Oil Products – it creates some amazing entertainment For fans at the Mount Pleasant Rd. track.

“There’s no doubt about the fact that we’ve had some very impressive car counts in the Bone Stock field this year,” said track owner/promoter J.P. Josiasse.

“But its not just about the quantity that makes it an interesting proposition. There is quality throughout the field. The top 3 spots in the overall point standings were separated by less than 50 markers. It makes everyone very proud of the effort put forward by our Saturday night home track regulars.”

With this year’s edition of Autumn Colours set to kick off Friday at Peterborough Speedway, Jack Hannah is looking forward to his first start in the Bone Stock field.

After taking the Mini Stock division checkered flag in the 2007 season-ending spectacular, Hannah – who works as a transit operator with the City of Peterborough – is proof that even in one of the sport’s biggest events, anything can happen. For that reason, he’ll always be able to say that he’s an Autumn Colours Classic champion.

“With several faster cars behind me, I knew that I wasn’t likely to win if we’d run the full event distance but I was the leader when the rain started,” said Hannah, who finished ninth in this year’s Bone Stock standings.

“The race was past halfway and couldn’t be restarted. I had never hoped for showers at the race track before; or since. I would’ve welcomed a torrential downpour that day.”

The first order of business for this year’s edition of the Autumn Colours Classic – presented by Lucas Oil Products – will be opening round practice and qualifying for the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stock, Jiffy Lube Mini Stock, Super Stock, Trailers Plus Ontario Legends and OSCAAR Modified teams. Also on the docket is the annual Young Guns races – presented by APC Auto Parts – for the Mini Stock and Super Stock teams.

Pit gates will open each day at 10 a.m. Spectator grandstands are unlocked Friday at 5 p.m., with racing at 6 p.m.
