Kim Zippel ready to fight for Otonabee Ward One citizens

-

Let’s reclaim the city for hard-working taxpayers!

City council has made major planning decisions that will impact the tax burden and quality of life for Otonabee Ward residents. As a long-time resident of the south end, I’m concerned that no one on council has been standing up for our interests. Otonabee Ward deserves better: better protection, better planning, and better representation. As your representative, I promise that I will be transparent, involve you in planning decisions, and oppose changes that are not in your best interests. In particular, I will fight to:

Spend your tax dollars wisely

Let’s stop wasting money on unneeded studies and consultants and start investing in infrastructure improvements, affordable housing, and strengthening the local economy.

Grow strong by growing smart

We need to manage our growth in a way that maintains our services and infrastructure, reduces traffic congestion, protects the environment, and minimizes the financial burden on taxpayers.

Maintain ownership of public services

Water and electricity are essential public services that should be provided by your city and not by outside, for-profit companies - and if citizens don’t want to sell, then council should honour that decision.
