Arrest in robbery after images made public

City police have made an arrest in connection with a mugging Sept. 1.

A man had just taken money out of an ATM at about 12:45 a.m. when he was approached by two men on George Street. One grabbed his arm and they brandished weapons before taking his money.

Police distributed images taken from a security video and asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

Officers went to a local home Wednesday and made an arrest. Riley Gavin Richards, 18, of McDonnel Street, was charged with robbery with a weapon (baton). He was held in custody and appeared in court Wednesday.

The investigation is ongoing.
