Take a peek at the past at Home Movie Night
The second annual Home Movie Day takes place on Oct. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. and is a chance to view a variety of home movies, many which have been rescued from basements and attics! This is also an opportunity to watch home movies that you no longer have the technology required for viewing.
Home Movie Day is hosted by Trent Valley Archives in conjunction with Traill College and the Cultural Studies Department at Trent University, with the objective of raising awareness of the social and cultural nature of home movies.
Those who would like to share their films, need to first drop them off for inspection and sign a waiver at Trent Valley Archives, 567 Carnegie Ave., by Thursday Oct 18. Everyone who submits a film is encouraged to accompany it with live narration to explain to the audience what is taking place in the film and share any revenant backstories.
Home Movie Day takes place at Bagnani Hall, Traill College, 310 London St. This is a free event, but those who would like to attend are asked to RSVP. For more information, or to RSVP, please call Heather at 705-7454404 or email admin@trentvalleyarchives.com.
