Owner Theresa spent months renovating the location at 127 Queen St.

The Lakefield IDA recently launched their new Hallmark Store within a store concept, providing a full Hallmark

Gold Crown store. You’ll find a complete gift section, collectabl­es, Christmas ornaments and of course Hallmark cards. Lakefield IDA is located at 32 Queen Street in Lakefield.

Skateboard store

The No Comply Board Shop recently opened in downtown Peterborou­gh. Owner Adam Howe features skateboard­s, longboards, snowboards, streetwear, safety equipment, and hats, shoes, bags, t-shirts and jackets, all in a really cool space at 442 George Street. Business events

Events this week include the Fast Start eConnect tomorrow (Tuesday October 9) at 6 pm at The Venue. This month’s speakers are Tony and Kelli Grady of Grady’s Feet Essentials. And last call to get your tickets for the annual Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.

The event happens Oct. 17 at Showplace, and features an evening to celebrate business excellence in the community and to honour the annual business citizen of the year. The ticket deadline is this Wednesday. Tickets are $40, available online at peterborou­ghchamber.ca.
