Man with hatchet arrested

Police were called Monday night after a man was swinging a hatchet and yelling at people outside a Brock Street community centre. It’s alleged that he hit a woman with his hand.

The man allegedly gave officers a fake name as he was arrested. The hatchet was seized. Alexander Dykes, 54, of no fixed address, was charged with assault with a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with a recognizance.
